Espressif Systems Announces the Wi-Fi Interoperability Certification of Home Automation Control Center Using 802.11b/g/n ESP8266EX
Jan 6, 2015
Espressif Systems (Shanghai) Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Espressif Systems”), today announced the Wi-Fi Alliance’s 802.11 b/g/n certification of Home Automation Control Center using Espressif Systems’ ESP8266EX.
The Certification ID is: WFA57895.
ESP8266EX, also known as ESP8266, is optimized for the Internet of Things applications. The chip’s WLAN contains features that enable it to operate in power-saving modes, with advanced power control algorithm to enable battery-powered or power-critical applications. It is designed with advanced CMOS 40nm technology, resulting in the lowest power consumption.
The 802.11b/g/n MAC integrates a PHY, 2.4 GHz transceiver, power amplifier, antenna switch, balun and LNA into a single die SOC, resulting in minimal board space. ESP8266EX also integrates a leading edge low power 32-bit microprocessor that enables users to develop their own applications.
ESP8266EX is currently the industry’s most integrated Wi-Fi MCU chipset with only 7 external components, besides offering the most advanced power control algorithm, and software development kit for all kinds of Internet of Things applications.
“The successful completion of certification of Home Automation Control Center with Espressif Systems’ ESP8266EX in the smart home devices marks another milestone in our efforts to enter the large and rapidly growing low cost Internet of Things devices market in China,” commented Teo Swee Ann, CEO of Espressif Systems.
