Shanghai, China
Jul 23, 2020
ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO, also known as the "Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) module, with Espressif", provides an easy way for developers to build Alexa-compatible devices.
Espressif Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SSE: 688018.SH), today announced the launch of its new wireless module ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO, also named "Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) Module, with Espressif". This module provides seamless, out-of-box connectivity to ACK cloud services, as well as easy implementation of such features as Alexa control, Frustration-Free Setup and Amazon Dash Replenishment for connected devices.
On this note, Teo Swee Ann, Espressif’s founder and CEO, said: “In the current era, which has brought to the spotlight device interconnectivity and voice-controlled technologies, Espressif works together with Amazon, in order to offer affordable solutions that reduce the complexity of building connected devices. The ACK Module with Espressif is one such solution, enabling our customers to build and manage connected devices with ease”.
ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO is a small-footprint (16 x 23 x 2.3 mm) module based on ESP32-PICO-V3, a System-in-Package (SiP) device integrating the ESP32-V3 SoC, a 4 MB SPI flash, a crystal oscillator, filter capacitors and an RF matching network. This integration reduces the complexity of supply chain and improves control efficiency, with assembly and testing done at SiP level. The module is pre-certified for regulatory certifications such as FCC, CE, SRRC, IC and RCM.
At the core of ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO is the ESP32-V3 SoC, which has an Xtensa® dual-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor with integrated 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. This SoC is designed with TSMC’s 40 nm low-power technology.
ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO provides full support for Amazon's Alexa Connect Kit (ACK), a managed service that makes it easy for device manufacturers to build products that connect quickly and easily to Amazon services, all at a fixed per-device cost. ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO comes with a default firmware that enables customers to connect their devices to Alexa and the Internet without worrying about managing cloud services, writing an Alexa Skill, or developing complex firmware or companion phone applications.
By relying on ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO, the heart of Espressif's module for the Alexa Connect Kit (ACK), users can easily, quickly and economically create products that can be widely used in the field of smart homes. With its compact size, high performance and seamless connectivity, the "ACK Module, with Espressif," aims to provide the connectivity solution of choice.
