ESP8089 is optimized for mobile applications, including wireless handsets and tablets.

The chip’s WLAN contains features that enable it to work simultaneously with other Bluetooth chipsets, with Espressif’s proprietary Wi-Fi & Bluetooth coexistence technology. It is designed with advanced CMOS 40nm technology, resulting in the lowest power consumption.

The 802.11b/g/n MAC integrates a PHY, 2.4 GHz transceiver, power amplifier, antenna switch, balun and LNA into a single die SOC, resulting in minimal board space.

ESP8089 is currently the industry’s most integrated Wi-Fi chip, with only 6 external components, besides offering the best performance and lowest power consumption in its category. ESP8089 is Espressif Systems’ latest effort to enter the large and rapidly growing low cost mobile communications devices market in China. The Asia Pacific region is projected to account for up to half of the world’s tablet shipments by 2015, and Espressif Systems is well positioned with this and other products to capture significant market share in this market.
